Students at Lea Manor joined the national 'No Pens Wednesday' event, organised by The Communication Trust. The event aims to develop oracy skills and encourage students to consider the learning power of verbal communication.
The maths department hosted a treasure trail with students having to work in pairs to solve equations and find their next clue. In computing, students took on different roles in managing discussion and group work including communication directors. In English, students stepped away from traditional ways of exploring texts through written communication and used the power of role play.
The science department showed great ingenuity and explored their subject area through creating cells, DNA and chromosomes using plasticine and using the traditional 'Guess Who' games to examine phenotypes.
