As part of the GCSE Drama exam students have to write about a live theatre performance that they have seen. in order to be able to do this, on Wednesday 5th October we went to the Gielgud Theatre in London to see "The Curious Incident of the Dog In The Night-time." Y11 have been studying this in class and now having seen it will be both writing about it in their exam, and performing some of the scenes for their practical assessment.
This is what one of the students thought of the performance in London.
"I thoroughly enjoyed this play. From the clever use of physical theatre I gained a good understanding of what it is like to be in the world of a teenage boy with autism, feeling his emotions and being inside his mindset. The techniques used were amazing from the lighting and staging to the actual acting skills of the performers. I strongly believe that from watching the play I will now be able to perform it to a much better standard."
