This week is anti-bullying week and the theme for this year's event is 'Power for Good'. The objectives of the week are:
- To support children and young people to use their Power for Good – by understanding the ways in which they are powerfuland encouraging individual and collective action to stop bullying and create the best world possible.
- To encourage all teachers, school support staff and youth workers to use their Power for Good– by valuing the difference they can make in a child’s life, and taking individual and collective action to prevent bullying and create safe environments where children can thrive.
This week at Lea Manor we have a series of assemblies and form tutor activities that encourage our students to think about bullying, its impact and what they can do to stop bullying. We are asking all students and staff at Lea Manor to sign a 'Power for Good' pledge where for this week we pledge to:
- Only use kind language whether spoken to someone or about someone or when writing on social media
- Say something kind and complimentary to another person each day
We hope you can join us and take part yourself in this pledge, by using your 'Power for Good'. Finally, please explore our website further on advice and guidance about bullying and if you know anyone who is being bullied please let us know immediately.
