Lea Manor Rugby players win the cup and head to Saracens!

We are delighted that three of our year 11 students, George Hand, Lavar Holness and Salman Abdulrahman have been rewarded for another outstanding year of rugby, representing Dunstablians RFC.

Over the last two years, they have worked with their team-mates to secure promotion twice, both times winning their division of the HML league. This is a fantastic achievement and testament to their dedication and love of the game.

This year’s award was particularly special as the boys were presented with the cup at Saracens Rugby Club by none other than current England full-back/winger, Chris Ashton (right) .

When asked about their achievements, the boys had this to say:

“Winning the cup is exhilarating. I have been injured recently so to come back and help secure the title has been amazing.” George Hand, 11L

“I am really proud to have helped win this cup. I am currently injured and can’t wait to get back playing. Winning this has just inspired me that little bit more.” Lavar Holness, 11L

“I have played rugby in Italy but the standard here in England is much higher; I am really happy to have won this cup!” Salman Abdulrahman, 11C

We wish the boys the best of luck in their future endeavours in rugby!
