World Book Day- Thursday 3rd March

World Book Day is a celebration! It’s a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it’s a celebration of reading.

The main aim of World Book Day in the UK and Ireland is to encourage children to explore the pleasures of books and reading by providing them with the opportunity to have a book of their own. This is the 19th year that there has been a World Book Day, and on Thursday 3rd March, 2016 children of all ages will come together to appreciate reading. Look out for our celebration video in the next newsletter!

In addition to other events, Lea Manor will be celebrating World Book Day by holding a huge book sale in the atrium during lunch 1 and lunch 2 on Thursday 3rd March.  Books will be sold at huge discounts; most used books will be sold for just 10p and 20p.  Please ensure your child brings some money so they do not miss this once in a lifetime opportunity.

Students will also be given bookmarks and £1.00 book tokens.
