Success comes in many forms from the vitally important results in public examinations to success as a leader; a friend; a musician; sports person; problem solver and much, much more. All of these skills are nurtured and encouraged in year 8 throughout the academic year.

Attendance is always a key focus and is linked to students fulfilling and exceeding their potential. Students are monitored closely and strategies are put in place to help all students achieve or exceed the targeted 95% attendance.

We are committed to playing a strong role in the community and ensure that our students understand right from wrong. Our growing relationship with our community has been an essential part of the schools development.

Through PHSE, citizenship education and community work, year 8 students are encouraged to understand and get involved with the roles and responsibilities we share with the community.

Continual assessment and feedback is built into every department’s programme of teaching to ensure students achieve the highest levels. Special events take place to challenge and inspire the more able students across all subject areas.
